Amazon’s autonomous‑vehicle unit Zoox announced an upgraded robotaxi design and a plan to scale Zoox robotaxi production to ↑ 100 vehicles/week, aiming for a weekly output of up to one hundred units by the end of Q4.

The new model features a slimmer profile, extended range and a redesigned sensor suite that enhances safety in dense urban corridors. Reuters reports that the factory in Foster City, California, is undergoing a second‑phase expansion to accommodate the higher throughput.

“We are accelerating the timeline for a national rollout,” said Jesse Levinson, Zoox’s chief technology officer, in a recent briefing.

Analysts at Bloomberg estimate that the increased output could shave delivery costs by up to 5% once the fleet hits critical mass, positioning Zoox ahead of rivals in the burgeoning robotaxi market.
