The newly unveiled Range Rover GT signals Land Rover’s first foray into a vehicle that discards the traditional SUV silhouette while preserving the marque’s heritage of off‑road capability.

After months of clandestine testing on the Nürburgring and in the Arctic Circle, the prototype emerged from camouflage, revealing a low‑slung fastback that blends coupe dynamics with the brand’s signature refinement. Inside, a twin‑turbo V6 delivers 550 hp, propelling the car from 0‑60 mph in ↑ 3.8s, a figure that puts it squarely against the Lucid Air and Porsche Taycan.

“We wanted a machine that feels like a Range Rover at heart but behaves like a supercar,” a Land Rover spokesperson told Reuters.

Unlike the electric‑only concepts that floated in 2023, the GT will launch with a plug‑in hybrid architecture, offering up to 50 miles of electric range before the combustion engine kicks in. Pricing is expected to start around £150,000, positioning it in the ultra‑luxury niche.

Analysts at Bloomberg project that the GT could boost Land Rover’s European sales by ↑ 15% in its first year, provided the market absorbs the premium price point.
