If clear skies hold, NASA will ignite the Roman Space Telescope launch today from Kennedy Space Center’s historic Launch Complex 39A. The Falcon Heavy is slated for liftoff at 7:26 a.m. ET on Aug. 30, with a backup window at 7:22 a.m. ET on Aug. 31.

Viewers can stream the event on NASA TV, the agency’s YouTube channel, and SpaceX’s site. A dedicated launch blog will post minute‑by‑minute updates, while Reuters and AP News will provide real‑time bulletins.

The $↑ 4.3 billion observatory combines Hubble‑class resolution with a field of view >100× larger, enabling surveys of >2 billion galaxies, thousands of supernovae, and countless exoplanets in infrared wavelengths.

“This mission will reshape cosmology,” NASA’s senior scientist said.

After separation, the telescope will cruise to the Sun‑Earth L2 point, sharing a halo orbit with the James Webb Space Telescope, and embark on a five‑year primary science campaign, targeting a decade of operations.
