A coordinated international law enforcement operation has neutralized the digital infrastructure behind four of the most destructive IoT botnets ever detected, responsible for compromising over three million smart devices worldwide. The U.S. Department of Justice, working alongside Canadian and German authorities, executed takedown orders targeting the command-and-control networks of Aisuru, Kimwolf, JackSkid, and Mossad — botnets that collectively launched hundreds of thousands of distributed denial-of-service attacks, some capable of overwhelming even the most fortified online targets.
