Raindrop Workshop brings local AI agent debugging to developers

The open‑source Workshop daemon streams every token, tool call and decision into a lightweight .db file, letting engineers watch execution in real time at localhost:5899. Within the first ↑ 2 MB of storage, the trace captures full agent trajectories, from successful actions to missteps.

“We built a sane way to debug agents locally,” says Ben Hylak, co‑founder of Raindrop AI.

Compatibility spans TypeScript, Python, Rust and Go, and the tool plugs into Vercel AI SDK, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex and CrewAI. Coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and OpenCode can read the trace, generate an evaluation, and automatically rewrite faulty logic—a self‑healing loop that reduces iteration cycles.

Because all data stays on the host, privacy concerns tied to cloud telemetry vanish, a point highlighted in recent Reuters coverage of AI governance. The same principle guided the industry’s response to the pandemic shift toward edge processing.

Installation requires a single shell command that configures PATH for bash, zsh or fish; developers preferring compilation can clone the GitHub repository, which runs on the Bun runtime. Raindrop Workshop is released under the MIT License, encouraging community contributions while preserving enterprise data sovereignty.
