Slack users can now summon entire squads of AI agents without leaving the chat.

NanoClaw Slack Integration Redefines Team AI

NanoCo’s latest plug‑in turns a single slash command into a roster of specialized bots, each with its own avatar, memory and permission set. “In the next 12‑18 months every employee will manage at least one digital teammate,” says CEO Gavriel Cohen in an exclusive interview. The setup skips the traditional OAuth maze; after a one‑time ‘Add to Slack’ approval, the platform can spawn new bots on demand, tagging them like human colleagues. Agents can collaborate in Slack Canvas, reply only when mentioned, and even ping each other across Telegram or WhatsApp. A demo shows a marketing lead creating Atlas, Sage, Echo, Scout and Compass, each handling strategy, content, social, outreach and SEO respectively. The architecture keeps all data on the customer’s own servers; NanoCo only provides a lightweight provisioning service for avatar generation. The company reports ↑ 250,000 downloads and ↑ 30,000 GitHub stars since the January 2026 open‑source launch. Analysts note that the move aligns with a broader Reuters trend of embedding AI deeper into workplace tools, echoing post‑pandemic shifts toward remote‑first collaboration. Compared with Anthropic’s Claude Tag or OpenAI’s ChatGPT Workspace Agents, NanoClaw’s edge is recursive provisioning: an existing bot can create additional named bots without re‑entering the Slack app catalog. Security teams retain full control because each bot runs in an isolated container and tokens stay on‑prem.

“It feels like hiring a new specialist with a single sentence,”

Cohen adds. The rollout is now live in the Slack Marketplace, subject to standard enterprise approval workflows.
