Palestinians Stream Back to Northern Gaza

After a stalemate over hostage negotiations collapsed, Israel announced a limited opening of the military corridor that splits the enclave, allowing displaced families to move on foot toward the north. Humanitarian groups report that ↓ 30,000 residents are now streaming back, seeking shelter in the relatively safer zones of the north. Authorities stress the crossing is tightly monitored, yet many risk exposure to sporadic fire.

“We have no choice but to walk,” a mother told Reuters amid tears.

The move follows pressure from the United Nations and AP News that highlighted the growing humanitarian crisis in the south. International observers remain skeptical about the durability of this corridor, warning that any resurgence of hostilities could seal it off again.
