Israel’s defence forces announced a West Bank air strike on Friday near Jenin that eliminated a Hamas operative and ↓ 3 suspected accomplices.

West Bank Air Strike Targets Hamas Operatives

The strike marks one of the few uses of aerial firepower in the occupied territory since the 2021 escalation. Reuters reported that the target was identified through intelligence gathered after a surge in attacks on Israeli settlements.

“We acted to neutralise an imminent threat,” an IDF spokesperson said.

Analysts note the operation could signal a shift in Israel’s tactical posture, raising concerns about broader escalation. The move comes amid lingering regional tensions and the ongoing pandemic-related economic strain.
