Geordie AI Secures $30 Million Series A to Guard Enterprise AI Agents

London‑based Geordie AI has closed a ↑ $30 million Series A led by Balderton Capital, pushing its post‑money valuation to roughly ↑ $180 million. The round, confirmed by Companies House filings, marks the biggest Series A ever for a European cybersecurity firm. New money from Crosspoint Capital joins follow‑on stakes by General Catalyst and Ten Eleven Ventures, bringing total capital to $36.5 million.

Founders Blend Darktrace and Snyk Expertise

Co‑founders Henry Comfort, former Darktrace COO for the Americas, Hanah Darley, ex‑director of security and AI strategy at Darktrace, and Benji Weber, former senior director at Snyk, built the platform on lessons from machine‑learning‑driven threat detection and automated code‑vulnerability remediation. “Agents will reshape work,” Comfort told Fortune, adding they need purpose‑built governance.

“We discovered three times more agents than we thought, cutting risk exposure by $12‑13 million,” said Leo Cunningham, CISO of Owkin.

Geordie’s software maps every AI agent—whether on a laptop, private cloud, SaaS platform, or embedded in code—identifying tools, plug‑ins and data sources each can touch, and flagging anomalies in real time. Its Beam module applies “context engineering” to constrain behavior on the fly.Competitive EdgeWhile Microsoft, ServiceNow and OpenAI embed oversight in broader suites, Geordie positions itself as an independent layer, likening its role to “the Switzerland of future agents.” The startup already runs in ~30 organisations, including AlphaSense and biotech firm Owkin, and promises deployment within 24 hours, a stark contrast to consultant‑heavy roll‑outs. Reuters notes that incumbent model providers could leverage distribution power, a risk Comfort acknowledges. Geordie currently employs 37 staff across London and New York, targeting a headcount of 50 in the next quarter to scale engineering and U.S. go‑to‑market teams.
