The intrusion originated from a compromised account of Context.ai, an AI service used by a Vercel employee. The hacker seized the employee’s Google Workspace credentials, then leveraged them to access Vercel’s internal network.

“The attacker moved laterally after taking control of the Google account,” a Vercel spokesperson told Reuters.
