The German banking giant is waiting for BaFin to approve its Deutsche Bank crypto custody service, which would enable institutional clients to store Bitcoin, Ether and a curated list of stablecoins. Approval timing remains uncertain, but senior executives indicate the rollout could commence by Q4 2024.

“We are prepared to meet all compliance requirements,” a spokesperson told Reuters.

The offering aligns with a broader strategy to capture ↑ €2bn in digital‑asset inflows projected for European banks this year. Deutsche Bank also eyes tokenized securities once the custody platform proves operational.
