Anthropic’s Claude Tag now reads an entire Slack thread before deciding whether to intervene, a shift the company says makes the bot roughly ↑ 30% better at judging when to speak. In a Reuters interview, Scott White, head of enterprise product, described the move as the moment AI stops being a solo assistant and becomes a de‑facto chief of staff for the whole organization.

“Claude used to feel like a personal chief of staff. Now it feels like the company’s chief of staff,” White told VentureBeat.

The upgrade replaces a message‑by‑message classifier with a full‑context engine that can either reply inline, open a dedicated thread, route the issue to an existing workflow, or stay silent. Security remains a priority. White noted layered defenses against prompt‑injection attacks, including classifier training and enterprise‑level compliance APIs. Permissions are always the intersection of what the user can see and what Claude can access, preventing cross‑channel leaks.
