BitMart partial restart: Timeline and Stakeholder Impact

The crypto exchange BitMart is charting a partial restart strategy while negotiating creditor payouts after its abrupt shutdown announcement. Hiring White & Case as restructuring counsel, the firm promised a detailed roadmap by Sept. 9. Sources say the firm controls assets worth ↓ 150M USD, a fraction of its pre‑crisis peak. The plan envisions reopening key trading pairs, contingent on regulatory clearance and liquidity restoration.

“We are committed to a responsible wind‑down and a measured relaunch where feasible,” a BitMart spokesperson told Reuters.

Creditors, many of whom entered the market during the pandemic boom, are slated to receive phased payments. The restructuring agenda also includes potential asset sales to fund the payouts. Bloomberg notes that similar exits in the sector have triggered a downward price pressure on related tokens.
