The Red Cross cautions that the Ebola outbreak DRC is far from its apex, and epidemiologists fear it may persist for ↓ 12% longer than initially projected.

Ebola outbreak DRC timeline uncertain

Health officials in Kinshasa admit data collection remains fragmented, making it “very difficult” to gauge the true spread, a sentiment echoed by Reuters.

“We are monitoring a volatile situation that could extend into next year,” a Red Cross spokesperson said.

International aid groups are scrambling to bolster contact tracing and vaccination drives, while the lingering threat fuels broader concerns about the region’s capacity to handle another pandemic.
