Netherlands seizes 800 servers

The Dutch Financial Intelligence Unit (FIOD) moved swiftly, arresting ↓ 2 suspects and confiscating ↓ 800 servers tied to a shadowy hosting provider that fed ransomware gangs, state‑linked influence ops and disinformation streams.

Operation targeted a platform that offered bullet‑proof domains and bulk IP leasing, a backbone for high‑volume phishing kits and botnet command‑and‑control.

“The scale of the seizure signals a new frontier in disrupting illicit cyber‑infrastructure,” said a FIOD spokesperson.

Authorities traced the infrastructure to multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with Europol and Reuters to map the traffic.

Analysts warn that dismantling such a hub may push criminal actors toward more decentralized, encrypted services, a shift Bloomberg predicts will complicate future investigations.
