Iran’s Enriched Uranium: UN Estimates ↓ 50% Stays at Isfahan

The International Atomic Energy Agency suspects that roughly half of Tehran’s stock of Iran’s enriched uranium remains locked inside the sprawling Isfahan plant, according to a recent briefing. Reuters cited satellite analysis showing limited movement since late 2023.

“The material’s location is a pivotal unknown in any diplomatic calculus,” an IAEA official warned.

Analysts argue the concealment hampers verification protocols and fuels regional tension. The nuclear dossier grows more opaque as Tehran resists full disclosures. AP News notes that the Isfahan site, originally designed for low‑enriched fuel, could be repurposed for higher grades, a scenario that would alarm neighboring states.
