Three Texas mothers have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the state education board’s mandate to hang Ten Commandments posters in every public‑school classroom, a move they label a Texas lawsuit Ten Commandments classrooms that discriminates against Sikh, non‑religious and multi‑faith families.

The plaintiffs argue the mandatory displays create a hostile environment, forcing children to confront a religious symbol that conflicts with their home beliefs. “Our kids should learn math, not a creed that isn’t theirs,” one mother told Reuters.

“The state is imposing a specific religious narrative on diverse students,” the lead attorney added.

The education board estimates the program would reach ↑ 1,200 classrooms, but critics say it violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. Legal experts from Bloomberg note similar challenges have reshaped school‑policy nationwide.
