The Trump administration announced a fresh wave of airstrikes against Iranian targets after Tehran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to commercial traffic, threatening global energy flows.

Strait of Hormuz Tensions Escalate

U.S. warplanes hit radar sites and missile depots in western Iran, while diplomatic channels scramble to revive a stalled ceasefire. Oil shipments through the narrow waterway have plunged ↓ 30% since the shutdown, raising fears of a regional supply shock.

“We will keep the strait open and protect international navigation,” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking to reporters in Washington.

Iranian officials warned of retaliatory strikes, and analysts note that Tehran’s oil output is down ↓ 15% amid the confrontation. For live updates see Reuters and AP News.
