Soaring Bond Prices Redefine Fixed‑Income Landscape

BitMEX researcher Shang Wu describes a panic among fixed‑income investors as government securities lose their low‑risk aura. The soaring bond prices have driven the U.S. 10‑year yield to ↑ 4.5%, unsettling traditional portfolio allocations. Simultaneously, Bitcoin’s market cap has surged ↑ 60%, fueling speculation of a multi‑year supercycle.

“The bond market is undergoing a structural transformation that could redefine risk premia,” Wu told Reuters.

Analysts cite tightening fiscal policy and lingering inflation as catalysts. Bloomberg notes that sovereign yields in Europe echo the trend, suggesting a global shift rather than a regional anomaly.
