Kwikset Smart Locks Now Accessible via Apple CarPlay Dashboard

Lock manufacturer Kwikset has launched CarPlay integration for its smart lock ecosystem, enabling iPhone users to lock or unlock doors directly from their vehicle dashboard without launching the mobile app. The feature activates when an iPhone connects to CarPlay, displaying the Kwikset app icon alongside other third-party applications. Users can select their home profile and control door access with a single tap while approaching or departing their residence. Compatible models include the Halo Touch, Halo Keypad, Halo Touchscreen, Halo Select, and Halo Select Plus series. The functionality excludes Kwikset Halo locks operating in Matter mode. Android Auto users will receive identical integration in the coming weeks. Industry analysts note this represents a convergence of automotive and smart home platforms, potentially accelerating demand for connected home security systems among premium vehicle owners.
