Kojima OD Secures Xbox Backing Amid Platform Reset – Game Survives

Kojima OD remains on Xbox’s publishing slate despite the console maker’s sweeping “reset.” Recent reports from Reuters confirm the third‑party deal is untouched, calming fans who feared another P.T.‑style cancellation.

Kojima OD’s Xbox Publishing Deal Stays Intact

The partnership, forged years ago when Xbox first courted Hideo Kojima’s studio, survived the recent pullback that saw funding withdrawn from projects like IO Interactive’s Project Fantasy and the aborted 1666: Amsterdam venture.

“We have a team that can spot games worth backing,” Xbox chief Asha Sharma said, adding that the company must keep the platform open for the next visionary creator.

Sharma’s remarks, echoed in a Bloomberg interview, signal confidence that Kojima OD will reach both Xbox and PC. No release window has been announced, but with Death Stranding 2 already shipping, development momentum appears stronger than ever.

Industry analysts note that while Xbox is trimming ↓ 12 internal projects, the firm insists it is merely reallocating capital, not abandoning its broader gaming ambition.
