Iran Nuclear Capabilities Continue to Expand Despite Prolonged Conflict

According to a classified memo obtained by Reuters, the United States’ extended campaign against Tehran has failed to curb the Iran nuclear capabilities that Washington vowed to halt at the outset of the war. Senior officials warned that the strategy, championed by former President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, has produced only a ↓ 15% slowdown in enrichment output, far short of the strategic intent. The memo cites satellite imagery and intelligence estimates showing new centrifuge installations and a ↑ 10% increase in uranium stockpiles.

“We are not seeing the decisive impact we projected,” a senior defense analyst told AP News.

Analysts note that the nuclear trajectory fuels regional tension and could reshape future diplomatic calculations.
