Resume Browsing and Cross‑Device Sync

A new “Resume Browsing” pane on the Start Page surfaces recently closed topics and tabs active on other devices, streamlining the handoff between iPhone and Mac.

AI‑Powered Custom Extensions

Developers and power users can summon an extension with a single prompt in the Safari settings’ “Create an Extension” panel. Suggested categories include Boost Productivity, Improve Focus, Get Creative and Develop & Design. Sample commands range from “Create a citation for this page” to “Turn the page into pirate speak.”

Because the engine runs on Apple Intelligence, it is limited to iPhone 15 Pro and later models.

Notify Me Alerts

Set Safari to watch a product page or ticket site and receive a push when the content changes. Frequency options span daily, weekly or monthly checks, with the earliest slot at ↑ 1 am local time.

Password Auto‑Update

The Passwords app can now auto‑replace weak or compromised credentials directly from Safari, going to the login page and swapping in a generated strong password with a single tap.

Ask to Browse for Parents

New parental controls require a guardian’s approval before a child can visit an unlisted URL, reinforcing safe‑surfing habits.

Performance Gains

Apple claims lower power draw, faster JavaScript execution and smoother animations, meaning the browser feels snappier while sipping less battery.
