Santa Monica Studio pulled back the curtain on God of War: Laufey during PlayStation’s State of Play, shifting the narrative from the brutal Spartan to his late wife, Faye, voiced by Deborah Ann Woll. Her post‑mortem odyssey unfolds in the mythic “Everywhen,” a liminal realm where deities from Egyptian, Mongolian and other pantheons clash. Players will team up with a sentient cosmic cube, Phranque (voiced by Jack Quaid), and a cheeky ribbon companion, Rue (voiced by Perlina Lau).

“We wanted to explore what it means to be a hero after death,” a studio spokesperson told Reuters.

The 20‑minute gameplay reel showcased fluid combat, striking visuals and the series’ trademark cinematic storytelling.
