Dutch Bros Coffee acquisition of 51 Salad and Go locations

In a rapid move following Salad and Go’s unexpected Chapter 11 filing, Dutch Bros Coffee announced a purchase price of ↑ 105 million for 51 former salad‑chain outlets spanning Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Oklahoma. The deal, disclosed in federal court filings on Tuesday, positions the coffee chain to convert the drive‑through‑only sites into its own branded stores by next year.

Shares of Dutch Bros (NYSE: BROS) slipped ↓ 13% in after‑hours trading after the announcement, reflecting investor caution despite the growth opportunity.

“The assets align perfectly with our existing model – no indoor seating, minimal kitchen requirements,” a Dutch Bros spokesperson said, according to Reuters.

The list of Arizona and Nevada addresses includes 910 S. Cooper Rd., Gilbert, AZ; 3299 E. Williams Field Rd., Gilbert, AZ; 2323 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV; and 1180 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, among dozens more. Additional leases in Texas and Oklahoma—such as 3064 N. Goliad St., Rockwall, TX and 1209 E. Kenosha St., Broken Arrow, OK—are also part of the package.

Salad and Go, once poised for aggressive expansion in 2021, found itself over‑leveraged and unable to weather a recent cyclosporiasis outbreak that crippled sales. With limited suitors, the chain identified strategic coffee or smoothie operators as the most viable buyers, ultimately selecting Dutch Bros as the sole bidder.

While the transaction awaits court approval, Dutch Bros expects to rebrand the sites in 2025, further cementing its presence in the fast‑growing drive‑through coffee market.
