CVE-2026-20230 Exploited: Cisco Unified CM Under Attack

A high‑severity server‑side request forgery (SSRF) flaw designated CVE-2026-20230 in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Server is now being weaponized by threat actors. Security teams worldwide report active exploitation attempts targeting internal APIs, potentially granting attackers remote code execution. Researchers at Reuters observed a surge of malicious traffic, with ↓ 12 confirmed breach incidents in the past week alone.

“The rapid weaponization of this CVE signals a shift toward automated exploit chains,” warned a senior analyst at Bloomberg.

Cisco advises immediate patch deployment and network segmentation to mitigate lateral movement. Organizations that postpone remediation risk credential theft, data exfiltration, and service disruption.
