Brendan Fraser The Mummy Return Gets Fast‑Tracked

Fans of the 1999 adventure will breathe a sigh of relief as the long‑awaited sequel has been moved up to October 2027, ↑ 6 months earlier than the previously slated May 2028 debut.

Radio Silence, the studio behind the creature feature starring Rachel Weisz, confirmed the shift in a statement released to Reuters. The decision reflects confidence in the film’s marketability and the star power of Fraser, whose resurgence after a high‑profile comeback has reignited box‑office optimism.

“Accelerating the release aligns with audience demand and strategic distribution windows,” said a studio spokesperson.

Analysts at Bloomberg project the earlier launch could add 5‑7% to opening‑week revenue, given the reduced competition in the fall slate.
