Bed Bath & Beyond coupon enthusiasts have a new reason to dust off their blue‑and‑white clippings. The retailer’s “Legendary Coupon Hunt,” rolling out at select Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store and Kirkland’s Home stores, promises a $100,000 home makeover for the customer who presents the oldest coupon by July 13.

How the Bed Bath & Beyond coupon contest works

Participants must bring any physical coupon—faded, expired or decades‑old—to a participating outlet. The top 100 entrants receive $500 gift cards; another 50 shoppers walk away with $100 spending vouchers.

“For generations our shoppers tucked coupons into purses and memory boxes, convinced they held future value,” said Amy Sullivan, president of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc.

The move marks a reversal from the ↓ 30% decline in foot traffic that forced the chain into bankruptcy in ↓ 2023, shuttering its last brick‑and‑mortar locations until a revival began in August 2025 under new ownership.

A Capital One 2026 study shows ↑ 93% of Americans have used a coupon in the past year, with digital codes dominating but physical clippings still prized by a loyal minority. The resurgence of print coupons mirrors a broader post‑pandemic shift toward tangible savings tools.

Even high‑net‑worth figures such as Warren Buffett and Shonda Rhimes admit to clipping coupons, reinforcing that thrift transcends income brackets. As Reuters notes, retailers that honor legacy discount programs may capture a growing segment of cost‑conscious shoppers.

For anyone still hoarding that yellow‑bordered slip from a 1998 sale, the prize could turn a nostalgic relic into a $100,000 home transformation.
