When the 2007 teen comedy hit theaters, most viewers never imagined the amount of explicit sketch work lurking behind a single punchline. David Goldberg, brother of co‑writer Evan, was tasked with delivering ↑ 1,000 phallic illustrations for a classroom scene, a job that turned into a clandestine archive.

To capture authentic anatomy, Goldberg toured museums, consulted medical texts, and produced a trove that far exceeded the film’s runtime. The surplus material was later bound into a 96‑page volume titled Superbad: The Drawings, featuring ↑ 96 exclusive images.

“It was absurdly funny and oddly therapeutic,” says the artist in a recent interview.
