The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit has already arrived in the Middle East while the 11th MEU steams toward the region alongside thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division. Pentagon sources indicate another 10,000 troops could join them soon as military planners prepare for what could stretch into months of operations.
