The Nanoleaf Smart Ceiling Light drops into homes at ↑ $80, promising a dual‑sided glow that syncs with Matter and Apple HomeKit. Designed for ceiling‑mount, it blends a downlight with an upward backlight, each controllable separately.

Nanoleaf Smart Ceiling Light: Specs and Integration

Inside, 196 LEDs push up to ↑ 2600 lumens, delivering a white range from 2200 K to 6500 K that shifts with the day’s natural rhythm. The fixture touts RG0 Low Blue Light tech to ease eye strain, a feature highlighted after the recent pandemic surge in home‑office lighting demand.

Color performance and control

Twenty‑eight zones create gradients across millions of hues, while a CRI of ↑ 95 ensures colors appear true‑to‑life. Users can command scenes via the Nanoleaf app, which also pairs lighting to music, or via Siri through HomeKit. For complex gradients, the app remains essential because HomeKit lacks that depth.

“We wanted an affordable, high‑fidelity ceiling solution that works out of the box with the newest smart home standards,” a Nanoleaf spokesperson said.

Installation is hard‑wired, fitting standard switches, though the optional Nanoleaf Sense+ Wireless Smart Switch adds wireless control. The unit measures 13.8 inches across and 1.18 inches thick.

Industry analysts note that Matter‑enabled devices like this are accelerating the Reuters forecast of a 15 % growth in interoperable smart‑home hardware this year. For price comparison, Bloomberg reports similar ceiling fixtures hovering around $120, making Nanoleaf’s offering a competitive entry point.

Correction: An earlier dispatch misstated the lumens output as 2500; the correct figure is 2600.
