Google Unveils Gemini Omni Flash API, Turning Enterprise Video Production into Conversational Editing

Enterprises have long wrestled with the cost and delay of producing a 90‑second training clip, juggling briefs, crews, edits and endless revisions. Google’s new Gemini Omni Flash API promises to collapse that workflow into a single conversational thread.

Gemini Omni Flash powers conversational video editing

Unlike the consumer‑only preview shown at I/O 2026, the API lets marketing and L&D teams feed text, up to seven reference images and three short video snippets into one model that returns a finished 720p clip with synced audio. The system retains context across turns, so a marketer can ask the model to relight a scene, swap a product’s colour, or replace a logo without restarting from scratch.

“We are turning video into a living document, not a static render,” a Google spokesperson told Reuters.

Reference‑driven control means a brand logo or a specific location can be dropped in directly, avoiding vague text prompts. The built‑in physics engine respects lighting, reflections and wet‑pavement effects, narrowing the gap between AI‑generated footage and real‑world capture.

Current limits include a ↓ 10 seconds maximum clip length and a fixed 720p resolution; longer videos require stitching multiple generations. Pricing is aggressive at ↑ $0.10 per second of output, making a ten‑second clip roughly a dollar, undercutting comparable services.

Every export carries Google’s SynthID watermark and C2PA credentials, addressing compliance concerns that have haunted generative media since the pandemic surge in remote content creation. The model deliberately refuses deep‑fake‑type lip‑sync from still images, but can translate spoken audio for multilingual training.
