macOS 27 Leaks Reveal Redesign and AI Tab Organizer Ahead of WWDC 2026

Apple’s upcoming macOS 27 is shaping up to be more than a cosmetic tweak, as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman disclosed in his Power On newsletter.

The new build will tone down the controversial Liquid Glass effect introduced with macOS Tahoe, targeting the shadow and transparency quirks that have drawn criticism from users and designers alike. Gurman notes the redesign should boost legibility across system apps.

“Apple aims to address the shadows and transparency quirks,” Gurman told his subscribers.

In parallel, Safari is set to gain an AI‑driven tab‑grouping assistant. Test builds of iOS 27 already show a “Organize Tabs” toggle on the central tab‑switcher button, letting users opt‑in to automatic grouping.

This capability is slated to roll out on macOS 27, iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, extending Apple’s push toward context‑aware browsing.

Apple will unveil the operating system at the WWDC 2026 keynote on ↑ 8 June, with the first developer beta expected shortly after and a public beta in July. The final release is projected for September.
