Virus-Hit Cruise Ship Arrives at Tenerife Port

Medical teams from the Canary Islands are on standby as the MV Hondius docks, bringing a ↓ 12 confirmed hantavirus cases aboard.

Local authorities have set up isolation zones, while Reuters reports that the outbreak could strain regional health resources.

“We are prepared for rapid containment,” said a senior health official.

Patients will be transferred to hospitals equipped for zoonotic infections, and a joint task force with CDC is monitoring the situation.
