Trump Signals Optimism as Iran Peace Framework Deal Nears

Iran peace framework negotiations intensify

President Donald Trump told reporters Wednesday that the United States and Iran have held “good talks over the last 24 hours,” and voiced confidence that a Iran peace framework could materialize within ↑ 7 days. Reuters reported the White House is awaiting Tehran’s reply to a 14‑point, one‑page memorandum that would pause nuclear enrichment and trigger the release of billions in frozen assets.

Key provisions and timeline

The draft calls for Iran to impose a moratorium on enrichment, the U.S. to lift sanctions, and both sides to ease Strait of Hormuz restrictions. Iranian officials, communicating through Pakistani mediators, say they are still reviewing the text; a formal answer is expected within ↓ 48 hours.

“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump added on Fox News that a deal could be sealed in a week, though he stopped short of naming a hard deadline. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed “full coordination” with Washington and warned the Israel Defense Forces stand ready if talks collapse.

U.S. officials stress a diplomatic breakthrough before Trump’s China trip concludes next Friday; absent a pact, the president may revisit military options. The ongoing back‑and‑forth is slowed by the need to route every message through Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who remains in hiding for security reasons.
