Sony TV picture settings: 3 quick tweaks to boost image quality

Owners of Sony Bravia sets often assume the factory picture is optimal, yet a handful of adjustments can unlock deeper contrast and richer hues.

Sony TV picture settings: three tweaks that matter

1. Custom picture mode – switch from Standard to Custom and raise the OLED Light by ↑ 15%. This alone lifts peak luminance without washing out dark scenes.

2. Motionflow fine‑tune – disable the default Auto Motionplus and set the slider to Low. The result is smoother action without the “soap‑opera” effect that many reviewers criticize.

“The change is subtle but immediate, especially in fast‑cut sports,” notes a Reuters tech analyst.

3. Color temperature – select the Warm2 preset for a film‑grade look; it reduces the blue cast that can make skin appear artificial.

Combined, these three settings can improve perceived picture quality by up to ↑ 12% according to independent lab tests cited by Bloomberg.
